PICK FOR ACOUSTIC GUITAR
I hope the above two figures clarifies the way pick is being hold while playing the acoustic guitar. Also the thickness of pick also matters I generally use thinner pick of nylon material of size 0.50 mm, nylon is flexible and also durable because i have broken so many plastic picks while performing live on stage and when i switched over the nylon picks it never broke. There are some good companies that manufacture nylon picks – Clayton, Duralin and Nylflex you can check with your local music store or amazon for its availability and should try them. I’m sharing the picture of picks which i’m using sorry for the dirtiness because of 5 years usage will clean them post this crazy pandemic lockdown :).
PICK FOR ELECTRIC GUITAR
For Electric Guitar I use pick with 0.70 mm – 0.80 mm thickness the roughness over the pick gives me grip to hold and play, sometimes i flip-over the pick to play the strings that gives me a different tonality. I would say you must try experiment playing the guitar by changing the angle of pick and see how you feel about the sound and come up with something new that will suit you and sound unique. Now I hope you’re clear about how to hold a guitar pick that too in a right way :), i wanted to keep the article short and crisp.
